Whoa

While browsing through the real estate listings earlier today, fantasising about living the groovy inner urban latte lifestyle, I came across this... unique... take on the restoration of a Federation era house.

It probably seemed obvious at the time; why not get the picture rail to follow the angle of the ceiling?

I suspect that the current owner is selling because she suffered one too many bouts of vertigo while wandering into the living room.

Brilliant! It's like something Alice might have seen in Wonderland.

Although of course Alice probably wasn't looking at a $600,000 mortgage for the privilage.

There is something horribly wrong with the second picture...

I copied it into Photoshop and tried to align it on the horizontal - the shelves are either horribly fracked up or the photo has been manipulated to accentuate the tilt (not saying you did it).

I think there's an element of unintentional forced perspective going on here. Also there's a different number of shelves on each side of the fireplace. And the shape of the mirror adds to the architectural discord.

Sweet merciful crap - I may just have to buy the house to rescue it from design philistines. Of course that was probably their oily plan all along.
